BYU vs. SDSU

{10/17/09}

Friends, football, fun. What could be better? Oh right, and did I mention that BYU WON?! I guess it wouldn't have been quite as fun without that happy outcome. We love Jared and Amanda and their two little munchkins, Corban and Malia, and were happy that they decided to hang out with us at the game. Bugs made quick work of the removal of his shoes and shorts. In fact, he ran around the entire inside circumference of Qualcomm Stadium shoeless. I was envisioning cuts and fungi. But the child was in heaven jaunting along happily . . . until, of course, he was accosted by the SDSU mascot (an Aztec warrior) who tried to get Bugs, all BYU-clad, to give him five. Bugga wasn't having any of it. He knew well where his loyalty lay and he backed up cautiously until he was safely behind me. :D

Go Cougs!

By the way, I think there actually were more BYU fans there at the stadium than there were SDSU fans. Truly. It was awesome. Oh, and when the SDSU fans in front of us got up to leave, they made some spiteful comment about how our section didn't look too much like Utah since there weren't enough wives or something. I just stared at them like they were insane. Because they were. Or drunk, more likely. It didn't help them any that they had happened to plop themselves down in a completely blue section and no one was laughing at their ill-advised attempt at humor. Anyway, it's funny to me how quickly a sporting event can turn to a misinformed and disrespectful attack against someone's religion.
