Whiteboard Musings

*We interrupt our regularly scheduled Utah trip postings to bring you this important announcement . . . .*

I have this awesome whiteboard in my kitchen/office area. I love it. My calendar hangs on a magnet there, the bottom half is always filled with random drawings from the boys, and I hang up anything that needs to remain foremost in my mind (bills, invites, assignments, etc.). But my favorite part about my whiteboard is that it offers me a place to quickly write down weighty thoughts that are fleeting. I forget everything. My whiteboard is my memory center.

This is one of the things I had written on my whiteboard recently after a particularly calm morning and fabulous scripture study. I had this idea that I needed to write down everything I could think of that I wanted my sons to learn from their time with The Chief and me before they move out of our house and on to their own higher education, missions, families, and careers. If you can think of anything else I should add, please let me know, this is by no means comprehensive!

Wow. Seriuosly love it. All of them are so well said and comprehensive. I am going to write these down- good for me, my kids, and the girls at church. Thanks for your moment of peace and clarity!

Thanks friends! Please let me know if you think of anything else. I would love some input. I know there has to be more I'm leaving out.

I have a similar list I started on my mission that I haven't looked at in awhile. You gave me a few great ideas to add to the list. I know one thing I have on mine is to teach them to love their country and it's history and respect the law or something like that.

What a beautiful board! I think you and Dan are raising some amazing sons, and this board shows how well-prepared they will be to go out on their own =)

When Brian and I have kids, we'll definitely have to have something like this!

Marilee! Yes! I can't believe I forgot that. Sheesh. Thank you so much for reminding me about patriotism. I'm definitely going to have to re-write this on my white board.
