The Story Behind the Poll

I feel like I should explain the most recent poll featured above. I am, first and foremost, a stay-at-home-mom. And I love it. In fact, I enjoy having my boys with me so much that I'm planning on homeschooling them, too. But that's another topic for another day.

Besides being a stay-at-home-mom, I am attempting to turn a photography hobby into a photography business. But, because of my preference and love for my first title, it often takes me longer than your regular professional photographer to return people's post-processed pictures to them. I also happen to be a chronic perfectionist and like to fix every little blemish and smooth skin and make the crazy, hairy guy in the blurry background disappear. That takes time. Time is something of which I have precious little to spare these days.

Therefore, would you rather go to Kiddie Kandids and have professional photos taken and delivered same day? Or are you the patient type who can wait a little longer for perfectionism and personalization to take effect at the hands of a meticulous-but-harried SAHM?

That is the story behind the latest poll. Fire away.

For our wedding I wanted really good photos. I spent A LOT of money on a photographer who is a friend of a family member. She was amazing. It took about a year to finally get our pics, but it was so worth it. She got our engagements to us before our wedding, in which she had cropped my toosh to look like a model (I love her!). It was well worth the time spent waiting, and the money! Take your time... if your clients don't understand or get furious... oh well. They'll love you once they get their products! You're amazing!

Wow! A whole year?! She must have given you A TON of pictures. That's awesome! Thankfully, it's never taken me an entire year to get a client's pictures to them, but I have been known to deliver them a couple of months later.

Thanks for your words of encouragement and support!

I think my real answer to the poll woud be somewhere in between. I am not usually looking for perfection. I would like nicely edited pictures that don't take a year to get back.

Okay, but if it took more like two months instead of a year, and you had paid $200 for a session plus $200 for the CD, wouldn't you rather they be perfect than in your hands in two weeks?

We need to talk about editing!! Give me a call, I have some time saving tips for you! I deliver 30-70 images in 3 days to my clients and I'm a perfectionist too! It can be done, trust me!!! : ) And it gets easier once you set your routine.

Yes. Tips. I can always use more tips! :0) Especially if they are geared toward making my life easier. One of these days we'll reconnect! :P
