New Toy!

So, after a whole lot of research and fretting, we finally bought a new camera. Woohoo! We ordered it last week and it just arrived today. As you can see, I've already been testing it out. :) As you can also see, I was playing mostly with black and white and sepia tones. Our new camera is a Canon, something unfamiliar to us. I had a trusty little Nikon 3MP camera that took great, sharp pictures, but the battery compartment door broke. :( So, we got an Olympus. Don't EVER buy an Olympus if you value your memories! It takes such terrible pictures. I've been so frustrated with constant blurriness, terrible colors, and a VERY slow shutter speed. Usually my boys had already moved out of the picture by the time the camera actually took it. :) Needless to say, I really like our new camera. I've only taken a few pictures, but it's super fast, really sharp, and very versatile for a point-and-shoot digital camera. I was also relieved when a friend of mine (who displays awesome pictures on her blog), revealed that her camera is a Canon. It was confirmation that Canon equals quality. Well folks, that's it for my little camera review. Hope you enjoy the pictures. Oh, and as an added bonus, our new little camera's video capabilities come with audio. Da dat da dah! I can't wait to throw in some video of Bugga laughing and Buddha singing. Look out blogging world, here I come with my mean, camera-wielding self. :) So, what do you guys think?

How did I get this picture, you ask?
Well, Buddha was watching cartoons. :)

Yes, Bugga is eating the shutters.

Time for a hair cut, my squinty-eyed friend! :)

We have a cannon too! Scott did research for hours online to find out what works well and what doesn't, and cannon is what he came up with. I like your pictures by the way, the one of Soren watching cartoons is adorable.

Thats fun you could get a new camera, its nice to be able to get pictures as things are happening and not have to repose everyone. :) By the way I did my headre with the pics with a digital scrapbook program and then just added it as a pic.

I am SO jealous!! Our camera has started to take fuzzy pictures and I can't wait to have a camera with sound! It just isn't the same without hearing their little voices and laughs. Hopefully Christmas! (cross your fingers!) But yeah, once I do, LOOK OUT BLOGGERS!

Hey Lyz- Jacob will be 9 months next week, so they are fairly close in age- he was born in February. That is so fun to have your boys birthdays so close!
The banner wasn't as hard as I thought it would be! I put the words on the picture using Microsoft publisher then I saved it as a jpeg. Then I used HP Image Zone that came with our printer and cropped it and changed it to Sepia. It even saved it as "blog size". I've always loved your banner now with the temple and picture, but I know how it is to feel the need for change. I think I've changed mine a dozen times already. I think you can download Image zone for free. I'm also willing to help you make it if you want that.

Liz, I was so glad to read your post. It was just what I needed to hear. We have an Olympus camera and I have been very frustrated with it lately. We are thinking about getting a new one. Can I ask about how much you paid for your cannon? The pictures look awesome!

I love Canon. Every camera i've ever owned is a Canon.
my best photos of ava are when the tv is on in the background. if it isn't on, she ends up wanting to sit on my lap.
