Free Tuesdays at Balboa Park

Last Tuesday (I know, I'm really behind), we went to Balboa Park to take advantage of their Free Tuesday schedule. For those of you who don't know, Balboa Park is where the San Diego Zoo is, but that's hardly all. There are tons of museums, exhibits, gardens, theaters, and centers (like the Fleet Science Center and the Veterans Memorial Center). Well, my friends Heather and Agnes were kind enough to invite us along on this Free Tuesday I was unaware of and we were able to visit the San Diego Model Railroad Museum and the Rueben H. Fleet Science Center. The boys loved the trains, but mostly they loved playing with the little train tables they have set up in a play area for kids. I think they had the most fun at Kid City in the science center. There were all sorts of toys and games that had some relation to a scientific principal (like gravity and friction). Anyway, it was a lot of fun and I think we'll definitely go back again. I'm even thinking of getting a family membership there's that much to do and see.
Buddha and Bugga in front of a train exhibit (you can tell how much I was paying attention to the history here).

Coby and Buddha and some random lady who was flustered by all the children. She smelled like essential oils.

Buddha, Jeffrey, and Coby checking out the locomotive scene.

This city is made entirely out of legos and the trains actually run.
Very cool.

Our very good friends Coby, Rett, and Heather.

Coby and Buddha hugging.

Bugga at the train tables.

Buddha absorbed in his own creative train world.

Wandering Bugga

Huh?

Bugga and Buddha in a miniature house at Kid City.

Buddha playing the xylophone.

Bugga knocking over some giant k'nex.

I love little science centers for children. Pretty cool that it was free, too! That's another great incentive to go. Your kids are so cute.
